When fair trade is achieved that means there will be no more poverty, that the people’s quality of life is rising because of better pay, thus, leading to better development for the community, better housing, education and so much more. In addition, when thinking about fair trade’s meaning it is important to understand that sustainability is very important. By having a fair trade between two partners, the business tends to last longer and is much more sustainable.

Understanding Fair Trade’s meaning can be about understanding why we need more fair trade products compared to just buy it for the sake of it. By knowing the meaning of fair trade, you show your support to fair trade and have a cause, which makes that an ethical choice. You are making a difference and you know you are.

Yes, it can be kind of confusing because ultimately the two are the same and hope to achieve the same goal. However, Fair Trade is the idea or concept that wants to achieve an equal and ethical trade between two parties. This Fair Trade’s meaning is that the fair trade itself and the movement of paying the workers and farmers more and their equal pay. While Fairtrade is an organization that has similar goals and mission but is a certification organization too. To put it simply, Fairtrade does everything Fair Trade aims for but is an organization that helps achieve that goal with certification. Fairtrade’s Meaning

Fairtrade is actually an organization that helps brands and business with fair trade certification and have programs and ways to support fair trade workers and farmers. Fairtrade also acts like middlemen where they have a network of fair trade farmers and businesses. In addition, they provide options allowing people to donate to make a difference.

Fairtrade’s meaning is to “change the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries”(What is Fairtrade?). And Fairtrade’s mission is to “connect disadvantaged producers and consumers, promote fairer trading conditions and empower producers to combat poverty, strengthen their position and take more control over their lives”.
